Please, I'm not worried in the slightest bit about any legal actions they want to take. [He gives her a hard look, but his eyes soften a little- he won't hurt the boy, as much as he'd like to. He knows she can handle herself.]
You do that then. That will teach him to think twice before he decides to make a fool of himself.
As for Sasuke...well, Hinata already dealt with him.
[She manages a slight smirk at that while rubbing her eyes dry. Neji's adorably shy and sweet-natured twin sister surprised everyone.]
She punched him in the face, and pretty impressively hard, too, from what I heard.
[Being decked by someone like Hinata would be way more damaging to the arrogant high school quarterback's reputation than being beat up by her father ever would. Hinata was so kind, gentle and unassuming.]
So, beat up by his own sister? How humiliating. Perhaps I'm not needed at all. [He smiles, giving her a tighter hug as she's starting to calm down a little, at least that's what he's getting out of it right now.] Why don't you tell her she's welcome over here for dinner anytime she wants. I can't have a deed like that go unrewarded, after all.
[She is calming down a little. At least people weren't adding insult to injury by laughing at her or being supportive of what Neji had done. And he did have enough respect for her to tell her himself rather than letting her find out secondhand through gossip. She's still hurt and upset, but it could have been worse. Hinata beating up the jerk quarterback who couldn't just settle for ruining his own relationship also helps.]
Well, more like Sasuke was beat up by Neji's sister. She didn't beat Neji up, but she's barely talking to him.
[Which is nice, really, knowing that she's not going to accept that kind of behaviour from her brother.]
I'll pass on the invitation, though.
[And hopefully, Hinata wouldn't be asked for a narrative of decking Sasuke, because Bulla knows her friend is a little embarrassed about her outburst.]
[He looks at her for a second. Oh, he misheard. He will just blame it being so late that he confused Sasuke with Neji.] That's what I meant. I don't see why she shouldn't of beaten them both. Either way, it's good to hear they are getting their just desserts. So, everything will be fine, don't you think?
[She looks like she's calming down to him. He's thinking about trying to get her to go to bed now, so she can sleep on it and hopefully feel better in the morning.]
[Bulla's response is to turn up the radio so that she and Wanda can enjoy the song. She even sings along, all the while driving just a little faster than she probably should. It's not enough that she's at any risk of losing control of the car, though. As a cheerleader, she's got very good reflexes.
Finally, parks in a tidy little parking lot in Uptown, where all the upscale boutiques are. Though Bulla may be hoping to be elected Homecoming Queen and has focused a bit on that, she nonetheless wants everyone to have a good homecoming. If she can add a little magic to Wanda's evening by buying her a gorgeous dress? She'll do that. Bulla doesn't fully understand what it's like to live in the lower class - she can't since she's never done so. But while she's been spoiled, she hasn't been spoiled rotten like some aristocrats. She at least has some genuine sympathy for the lower classes, even if she can only imagine what it must be like to not be able to afford nice things.
She makes sure to lead the way into the boutique. She isn't blind to the class divide, and Wanda will get better service if the boutique staff realize right away that Bulla's paying for everything.]
Pick out whatever dress you'd like...although I'd recommend one of those three there, personally.
[She points out three dresses off to the side that she thinks will be flattering with Wanda's build and colouring.]
[Wanda bobs her head along to the song, keeping beat with her hand against the open window sill where she rests her arm. Riding in a nice, fast car like this is definitely a treat, and her smile indicates how much she's enjoying it.
Heading into the boutique, Wanda tries to not look star struck. It's one thing coming here to window shop and day dream. It's quite another to suddenly know that any dress in the place could be yours for the asking. She moves over to the rack Bulla had indicated, reaching out to touch one of the dresses, pulling the skirt to see how full it was, and what the pattern looked like. It felt wonderful under her hands. Never been worn out of the store, never been sweated in, or run through the wash with unforgiving detergents. A brand new dress. Up to date, and fashionable. ]
They're gorgeous... Oh, what about you? You've probably had your outfit planned for weeks, now, right?
Actually, it took me a while to settle on what I wanted. I still need to buy a shawl to go with my dress. I bought that one over there.
[She points to a full length and very pricy red dress with thin little spaghetti straps. It's otherwise a modest dress, but she'll be getting a shawl so that her father doesn't have a conniption about her going out in public in it.]
Oooh... [Wanda admires the dress from her position on the floor. The two girls have a similar choice in colour pallet, if not style.] Well with so many choices, and for such an important night--! What were you thinking, a white shall? Or something less constrast-y?
Uncle Vash, you need to look for better jobs. That's the only paying back I'm going to accept.
[She's pretty adamant about it, too. Loaning him money will only enable him to continue on the way he's going, and there will come a point swhen her father loses patience with him entirely.]
What's going to happen if things work out between you and this lady and you decide to get married? You need to have a better, more secure job, and to do that, you need to dress for success.
You're assuming that people can hold out without money for that long, Uncle Vash. Or that you'll have a job to go back to.
[Bulla's more skeptical. She's around a mix of people who sympathize with the lower classes and with those who are extremely unsympathetic. Their family isn't especially sympathetic, although they do acknowledge and reward competence regardless of the person's social station.]
Well, they've already last three months I think we can really do that! I mean, that's the point of the strike, right? To have better jobs to go back to!
[Forever optimistic this guy. Probably something Bulla has, unfortunately, had to deal with over the years of knowing him.]
We paid them a deposit and they didn't give it back. I have their signatures on a typed contract saying that the money we paid them was a fifty percent advance for them playing the show. Not following through on it and not giving us our money back totally counts as theft and fraud.
[As the only child in a family that doesn't bother with traditional gender roles when it comes to work, Bulla's expected to eventually take over the company after her father retires. She's learned a thing or two about contracts in the process. As well as how to project absolute confidence to intimidate people into giving into what she wants. She doesn't use her confidence to intimidate generally, but the odd time she does, well. It's obvious that she took after her father in some ways, after all.]
Besides. They were going to ditch us for playing a show at the university because they wanted to pick up girls who were old enough to be legal drinking age. They're not exactly geniuses.
I've got a really cute gold hairclip that you can borrow if you'd like to pin your hair up into an updo. Do you have a pearl bracelet? If so, I think you should wear it to match your earrings, since your shawl will match your necklace.
[Well, it looks like Quinn has at least some accessories planned out, so Bulla glances at some of the shoes.]
Well, it depends on how much dancing and walking around you're going to do. Mine aren't very high because I know I'm not going to be sitting for much of the evening at all.
[Bulla refuses to hurt her ankles trying to balance on 4-5 inch heels. That kind of injury was terrible for a cheerleader.]
Personally, I'd suggest something no more than three inches high....and if you can find a dark blue that matches your dress, you can go with that, too.
I do know you. So...would it be reasonable to guess that you might throw one or more of them at someone today, since they're definitely not for decoration?
[Since Loki's choosing his words carefully, Bulla's doing the same. She doesn't share his penchant for mischief, although she sometimes finds his pranks funny. She alternates between thinking he's witty and a total dork.]

[But then, he was convinced that all teenage boys were trouble.]
Oh, that sounds gorgeous, Clove. The one I've picked out is all red and full length.
