Hey everyone! I've already got Mother's Day covered for celebrating with my mom, but things are a little trickier with my dad. I've been thinking about it and the thing that would make him the happiest would be if I spent the whole day training with him. He's a super strong martial artist and it's his favourite thing to do.

[Which will be a real labour of love. There's no way she'd willingly subject herself to anything close to what her father would consider a good amount of training on a regular basis.]

I've already been getting some training, but I've never gone all out and trained for a whole day straight.

[It's never appealed to her before. Not even remotely. Regular exercise is one thing, and dancing is fun. 8+ consecutive hours of intense training is something she'll need to work herself up to if she's going to be able to move the next day.]

So...I was hoping to find people that would be willing to spar with me. I want to get strong enough to protect little kids that get drafted and I want to make my dad's Father's Day really special. I'm pretty durable and I can fly, so you don't need to worry about me being too fragile to handle it.

[She smiles and waves.]

Whoa-! So you learned your stuff from your mom, huh?

[This time, Saori does something different, her own hands moving in a wide circle to block the attempt. The sweeping motion, accompanied by a spin places her behind Bulla.]

With most defensive martial arts, circles are an important part of the style. You see what I did, moving your momentum and changing mine without using much force. You can't stop a man as strong as your father with brute strength, but you can use a circle to gain leverage.

Uh, anytime, really. I've got airbending training in the mornings, but after that, I'm free as a dragon hawk.

So...the circle lets you redirect the force while avoiding it yourself.

[Bulla may not be much of a martial artist herself, but she's watched far too many tournaments to not be able to analyze how things work.]

[The small ball of paint explodes on contact and splatters all over Bulla's shirt.]

Aaah!

[It's not even very painful - she can handle being thrown well over thirty feet backward without so much as a bruise. It's more the sudden poke and the pain spattering everywhere that has her yelling.]

What the hell, Cliff?! I thought you were going to help me, not launch paint at me!

My dad taught me how to use ki to fly, but my mom was the one who started me off making good fashion choices.

How about tomorrow around noon? Preferably not in the Battle Dome. My dad spends enough time there that it'll be hard to surprise him if I'm there very often.

[He wonders, briefly, what things might have been like if he had a mom, growing up. It's not something he wonders very often, let alone dwells on, but... well, whatever]

That's cool. [Sincerely] So, when do you wanna do this?

[He stood to his full height of 6 feet and 5 inches, grinning like a mischeivous kid who was half his age.]

Who said that this isn't helping?? [He laughed.] The point of this is to stay sharp and dodge. I've got nothin' on a Saiyan, Kiddo, but there's a reason why bullets just don't work on us Klausians!

Yes, exactly. Aikido, Judo, Jiujitsu, Tai-Chi, all of them use circles. Even some sword styles do.

[The video feed clicks off.

And that morning, it's not hard to find the clearing in which Lee is training. It's filled with noise as Lee bounces around, already practicing a variety of speedy moves on the nearby trees.]

That's fine by me. [ That place gives her the creeps, anyway. ] How about outside the barracks?

I don't know. Green's a perfectly normal, if rare, hair color where I'm from. [ Naruto has weirder eyes than anything else but Sakura has that pink mullet and people made fun of her forehead instead so.... ] One of my friend's has pink hair and no one has ever said anything about it.

Do late afternoons work for you? Maybe tomorrow or the next day?

[She should probably write all of her sparring appointments down somewhere, though she'll have to be careful of how she phrases it. Hanging out and makeovers are probably the safest bet to avoid her father suspecting anything.]

[Bulla scowls a little and grumbles. Cliff, you brat.]

You could have told me to dodge or I'd get paint all over me first, and I would have dodged it for sure!

Okay...so, can you teach me how to do those moves you just showed me?

[While she can learn from her mistakes and adapt, Bulla's hoping Saori's training won't involve throwing her onto the sand until she figures out how to counter it on her own.]

[Bulla arrives just a minute before nine am. She's dressed for a workout, clad in a purple t-shirt, black capri pants, and running shoes.]

Good morning, Lee!

Sure, that works. I'll see you then, Korra.

[Sure enough, Bulla is right on time. She had a late breakfast to make sure that she wasn't hungry and that she'd have time to digest the food and she'll have a late lunch after training.

One thing Korra might notice about Bulla right away is that she's not very tall - her height barely cracks five feet and she's got a slim build. She definitely doesn't look like a fighter, although she's at least dressed in a pink t-shirt and loose pants for running around in.]

Green?

[Bulla blinks and lifts a few strands of her hair.]

Huh...must be the lighting in the room or the book's video camera. It's more of a bluish turquoise. You'll see when I meet you for training.

[He smirked. This was exactly what he expected.]

That's the point. Do you think your dad's gonna tell you when he's throwing a punch?

[He's been at it for a while now. After energetically kicking at a tree, he wipes the sweat from his forehead and turns to face Bulla. While jogging in place.]

Good morning, Bulla-san! Are you well?

[ Wow...she is pretty small. Korra wonders how much she's going to need to tone down her skills. Still, she waves in greeting as she approaches. ]

Hey! You made it, great.

Sure, I can take some time off from Seventh Heaven if y'give me a time.

[Besides, he deserves a social life]
