2nd shopping trip [Video, filtered from Vegeta]

Hey everyone! I've already got Mother's Day covered for celebrating with my mom, but things are a little trickier with my dad. I've been thinking about it and the thing that would make him the happiest would be if I spent the whole day training with him. He's a super strong martial artist and it's his favourite thing to do.

[Which will be a real labour of love. There's no way she'd willingly subject herself to anything close to what her father would consider a good amount of training on a regular basis.]

I've already been getting some training, but I've never gone all out and trained for a whole day straight.

[It's never appealed to her before. Not even remotely. Regular exercise is one thing, and dancing is fun. 8+ consecutive hours of intense training is something she'll need to work herself up to if she's going to be able to move the next day.]

So...I was hoping to find people that would be willing to spar with me. I want to get strong enough to protect little kids that get drafted and I want to make my dad's Father's Day really special. I'm pretty durable and I can fly, so you don't need to worry about me being too fragile to handle it.

[She smiles and waves.]

[Bulla scowls a little and grumbles. Cliff, you brat.]

You could have told me to dodge or I'd get paint all over me first, and I would have dodged it for sure!

[He smirked. This was exactly what he expected.]

That's the point. Do you think your dad's gonna tell you when he's throwing a punch?

...honestly, he might tell me to make it more interesting for himself, or if he decided to focus more on training and less on sparring.

[She's quite matter of fact about it, too. She isn't a challenging opponent for someone like her dad and she knows it.]

[This time Bulla narrowly dodges. The little condensed paint capsule goes whizzing past her, missing her by less than a half-inch. This time, at least, she knows what Cliff is doing.]

[He fired off more in quick succession.]

C'mon, girlie. Let's pick it up!

[Bulla avoids two of them, gets hit by a third in the arm, and then dodges the next ones narrowly. It's not perfect, but she's getting the hang of this exercise. She wishes he'd just used water pellets instead, but she supposes that's part of the point of this exercise - to motivate her to dodge without seriously harming her.]

[That was the idea, but Cliff was also thinking of her personality when he came up with the plan. She was a teenager who liked to be on top of the fashion trends, like most normal girls. Naturally, paintball would give her extra incentive to move-- even if it was to avoid damaging her clothes.

Cliff fired off a few more in the direction that she was already moving in. Have fun. ♥ ]

[Bulla stops short and jumps to the side, letting out a little yelp as she narrowly evades more of the little capsules of paint.]

[She's glad she didn't wear nicer clothing. She'd have been even more annoyed at Cliff for creating this exercise. Although she reminds herself that it's still not as scary as Logan's idea of an obstacle course. She is endlessly grateful that the man didn't teach physical education at her high school.]

[She was good. It was hard for him not to notice that much after a few rounds of one sided paintball. Bulla was still a rank amateur, but she could probably be the head of the gymnastics team or cheerleading squad if she wanted to. Cliff dialed his pace back, but kept an attentive eye on her to get an idea of her movements as he continued firing.]

How hard is it to wash this paint out, anyway?

[If it's difficult, her shirt's already gone, but she's concerned about her hair. She's glad that Cliff's slowed his pace somewhat.]

The dye's water soluble. It just depends on how well you can do your laundry.

[He was tough, but not mean. There was no way he would use permanent ink on something that was meant to be a moderate annoyance at worst-- that was just uncool, man.]

[Of course, she'd rather not get hit at all, but at least she knows it can be washed out. She's glad she won't be ruining her clothes for this.]

[He fired off a few more rounds, taking advantage of her distraction to catch her off guard.]

[Bulla squeaks when the paint pellets start flying her way again. She's suddenly forced to get moving again, and she's determined not to get hit with any more of the things, even if it will wash out.

Eventually another one pelts her leg and brightly coloured paint explodes all over it.]

Did you really forget the point of this?

[Stay alert or get smacked. Those would be her only options if Vegeta decided to work her hard. If he could dodge these little paintballs, she should be able to as well.

Cliff set the gun down, taking her yelp as his cue.]

Alright then. Whatever. Let's take a breather here. Heads up!

[He tossed a bottle of water, cold and still dripping with ice water from the cooler it came from, at her. It was murder to work in this weather.]

I didn't forget. I just don't train much...like, basically I don't train. I just exercise and do high school gym class.

[She catches the tossed bottle, fumbling momentarily due to how cold it is to the touch, but manages to not drop it in the end.

Even as she opens her water, notably, she hasn't worked up that much of a sweat. Even with the speed she had to move to dodge (with varying levels of success), Bulla's not breathing too hard. Her body can handle plenty more before she'll be exhausted. She does appreciate the refreshing sip, though.]

[It was more than just a break to give her muscles a chance to recover-- although, the strength of her Saiyan ancestry was becoming clear. Cliff pushed his goggles up into his hair and cracked open a bottle himself, seizing the opportunity to reassess the situation.]

So, you're just a regular girl who does regular things, huh? Nothing wrong with that. [He joined her so that they could talk on a more casual level. There was no training for the moment.] Lemme guess. You're something of a whiz at it too.

[Bulla pulls the goggles off for the time being. They feel weird on her, and they look a little dorky, but she at least understands why they're necessary now.]

At gym class? Yeah. It's my best class. I'm not a bad student overall, but gym class is definitely raising my average.

Hey, athletics courses in school are good like that! [Gym was always his best subject too.]

What kinda sports do you like then? Basketball, volleyball, gymnastics..cheerleading?

[Yes. Cheerleading is considered a sport. At least, he thinks it should be.]

Volleyball is fun and so are gymnastics. Basketball is okay. Soccer isn't bad. I've never tried cheerleading. Baseball is kind of boring.

[When she hits the ball, she always hits it far enough that she can walk at a leisurely pace along all the bases. Otherwise, she strikes out. Either way, it's not very interesting for her.]

Heh. Gotta agree with you there. Baseball's only good if you're a gambling person. It's too...I dunno, tame.

[He preferred sports like rugby himself. Water polo was another favoite, when he wasn't just sparring for the fun of it.]

But gymnastics and volleyball...have you ever tried dodgeball?

No, but I bet it's easier to dodge a ball than a paint capsule fired from a gun.

It is, but it's the same kinda thing. You've gotta stay aware of that's going on around you, or else a ball's gonna smack you and you're out of the game.

The paint is just a step up, and you might need it when you're working with your dad.

Probably. He's pretty fast along with being super strong.

[Although she thinks there's at least less of a massive gap between them when it comes to speed than when it comes to strength and power. She can fly reasonably fast.]
