Hey everyone! I've already got Mother's Day covered for celebrating with my mom, but things are a little trickier with my dad. I've been thinking about it and the thing that would make him the happiest would be if I spent the whole day training with him. He's a super strong martial artist and it's his favourite thing to do.

[Which will be a real labour of love. There's no way she'd willingly subject herself to anything close to what her father would consider a good amount of training on a regular basis.]

I've already been getting some training, but I've never gone all out and trained for a whole day straight.

[It's never appealed to her before. Not even remotely. Regular exercise is one thing, and dancing is fun. 8+ consecutive hours of intense training is something she'll need to work herself up to if she's going to be able to move the next day.]

So...I was hoping to find people that would be willing to spar with me. I want to get strong enough to protect little kids that get drafted and I want to make my dad's Father's Day really special. I'm pretty durable and I can fly, so you don't need to worry about me being too fragile to handle it.

[She smiles and waves.]

Yeah, I guess that's a good point. I mean, most people around here aren't going to be able to go toe-to-toe with my bending.

I'd get dressed properly, first. It's not the most fashionable, but it's proper, and the clothes will add some padding.

Don't worry. I'm not gonna ask anything much, and I'm not gonna intentionally push you too far.

I just need you to keep your feet on the ground while we're doing this. That means no flying. Got it?

[Bulla pulls off everything but the one-piece swimsuit she was wearing and puts on the gi. No, it isn't fashionable, but the idea of wearing one reminds her enough of home that she doesn't object. If anything, it reinforces that yes, she is training. Better to cover the gi in sweat than her cuter clothing, anyway.]

What kind of weapon would you recommend for someone who can fly?

[She's getting the idea that it's not as common an ability here as it is in her world, where at least half of the people she knows can do it.]

That's pretty cool. How does bending work, anyway? Is it a power you're born with, or can people learn how to bend elements?

Oh, that I can promise. It's not really fair to fly when you can't, anyway, unless you were trying to train yourself to deal with fighters that can fly.

[Given some people's ideas of training, she'd been worried that he'd come up with something ridiculous. Not flying isn't so bad. Wolverine sent her through a dangerous obstacle course without being allowed to fly.]

That's right. It's life force energy...and it takes way more ki than most people's bodies have. I know a lot of amazing martial artists who can do it, though.

It's something you're born with. It's all about controlling the element with the movements of your body. Most people can only bend one element.

You've gotta teach me that one. Maybe I could learn it too.

You have got to show me what it looks like when you bend an element.

[It sounds very interesting to her.]

The closest thing we have is using ki, but that's just having a lot of life force energy and using it for stuff like energy blasts or flying. Some people can do really amazing things with it, though.

Something light and ranged. Arrows, sickles and chains - with possible weights, and a scimitar if you want a light, flexible blade in your hand.

[ She knows how to use weapons in mid air. She's just ~that skilled~. ]

Whoa, wait - you can fly? [ Granted, airbenders could glide, but that was different. ]

Ah... That does sound correct. I approve of this exchange, Bulla-san!

[Bulla looks at the goggles and makes a face. How unfashionable!]

Um...why would I put these on? Are we swimming or something?

[She nods.]

Okay, I can do that.

[Bulla mimics the stance. Even knowing that Saori isn't weak, she can't bring herself to try to punch her, so she darts in to grab at her wrist.]
