Hi, everyone. I could use some suggestions for a distraction or three. Preferably something where you don't have to move around much.

[Truthfully, she's tired, depressed, and not feeling well, though it's due to an injury rather than illness. Her mother has vanished from Luceti, and she's recovering from the worst injury she's ever had in her life courtesy of a cultist.]

...and if you're suggesting reading, please suggest a specific book, because I've already read everything I have here in the house.

It's definitely a good idea to pick up the basics. Especially with the possibility of a draft.

[She'd suggest learning a weapon, but it's probably best to just start with how to throw a proper punch, a good kick, and how to use an opponent's force against them.]

I haven't been drafted yet, but my math teacher always used to talk about probability. I don't remember what she said but I know my luck can't hold out forever. So yeah...training sounds like a good idea. [After knowing what Bulla went through, a broken nail isn't such a big deal.]

Well, if you weren't a good student and you had a super-strict teacher, I could see how it would be an awful experience. I was an okay student for the most part...except for history. Most boring subject ever. Science class wasn't my favourite, but at least I could always see the point in studying it.

Ugh, science! I faked cramps to get out of dissecting a frog once...at the time I just didn't want to get frog blood on my new crop top, but now that I think about it cutting up animals is cruel! Even the icky ones!

[Bulla's never faked cramps or illness to get out of dissections but she will admit that it's nasty and unnecessary when technological advancements allow for alternatives.]

I can sort of understand why they teach that, but what I don't get is why they don't just have a computer version of the dissection, or fake rubber frogs. It would smell better and then they wouldn't have to use real frogs. Like, it's good to understand how bodies work and what animals have in common with human bodies, but...yuck.

Everything but the kitchen sink. And it's as gross as it sounds. Mom's frozen lasagna is totally fattening, but I'd sooner eat a third of a piece than Dad's slop.

Hurt his feelings? More like send him into a ranting, raving fit. My dad is...um...not very stable half the time. Not in that he hits us or anything, he just hates himself and thinks everyone else feels the same way.
