[She heads over to the MSF with them and suggests that half of them rest while half of them stay awake and help keep watch. It seems only fair to make sure that they can get in some rest. It's not healthy to go without sleep for too long. What she'd really like is a good night's sleep, but that's a luxury that will have to wait for the time being. But an hour here and there of rest? That can be done if they're smart about it.]
I promise I'll wake you up if there's anything suspicious. But even you need to sleep sometime, Dad. So rest while things are quiet.
All right. But unless there is a sign of trouble, I want to make sure you get at least an hour of sleep, preferably more. You've been up for days now.
[She'll feel much better if he does get some sleep. She'd almost rather let him rest even if there was trouble and try handling it herself, but shifters are dangerous. So are the Elites, and the MSF forces with them can't go without sleep for as long as either she or her father can...]
Yeah, yeah. I'll get the sleep, you just keep watch.
[He shifts, trying to make himself as comfortable as he can, and closes his eyes. It's not before long that he's fallen asleep, relaxed against the cold metal of the vehicle.]
[It's mercifully quiet. There are a couple of things that give her a start, but she takes a moment to check them out. Despite what he's said, she's not going to wake him over something like a small animal jumping through the trees. Now, if a flock seemed to be running away from something, on the other hand...
Which is actually what makes her wake him up after he's had two glorious hours of sleep to himself.]
Dad. Wake up.
[She gives him a light shake to wake him up before going to wake the sleeping MSF troops.]
I'm not sure what it is, but...something doesn't seem right.
Mmmmmmmm. [He stirs, eyes squinting open. The sun is bright, and he has to wipe away sleep from his eyes.] Wha- what do you mean... [He fights to wake up, realizing that he wasn't back at home in bed but on a moving vehicle through the jungle.]
[Fully awake now, and poised for a fight, he keeps his eyes peeled into the jungle on that side, looking for life signs, trying to sense ki if he can. It's not until the last second does he pick up on some life energy in front of them, his head turning and beginning to shout, but it's too late.
A huge, bulky elite standing at least seven to eight feet tall slams into the first vehicle of the convoy, sending the rest into a screeching halt, flinging Vegeta forward and slamming into the back of the vehicle, almost breaking the glass between him and the driver in the front seat.]
[Even prepared for something to happen, Bulla lets out a yelp of surprise when the truck comes to a screeching halt. It's all she has time to do before a couple of the MSF troops go slamming into her. Fortunately for them, but less fortunately for her, her body is what keeps them from crashing their heads into the hard edge of the truck.]
[Holding his head, he manages to pick himself up from his spot where he slammed into the back of the truck, dazed for a second. He can hear the crunching of metal as the elite puts its fist through the door of the car at the front of the convoy, screams following as one MSF is ripped from the driver's seat.
Vegeta's second thought is to check on Bulla, quickly making his way to her, grabbing her and jumping off the back of the truck.]
Looks like we're getting that fight you've been training for-! Get down, over here! [He's making his way into the brush, to get a good view of the situation.]
[Still, Bulla listens and crouches down in the brush like he tells her to. But she's worried. They're the strong ones here. They should be fighting that Elite before he kills anyone.]
Quiet, Bulla! It's probably a trap! Look behind us! [And, lo and behold, some of the cultists are coming up from behind, to take out unsuspecting MSF.]
[His hand points at them.] Let's blow them to smithereens. [Even as he speaks, energy is forming in his hand.]
[Well, that's creepy. Bulla turns her palm toward some of the attacking Third Party forces and lets loose a ki blast. She aims carefully, not wanting to hit any of the living MSF troops. If they're dead or gravely injured? Well, it doesn't really matter anymore at this point. The best thing they can do right now is take out the Third Party as quickly as possible to preserve as many of the MSF troops' lives.
It's a good thing he got to have a nap. It won't rejuvenate him completely, but at least it'll help him continue fighting for longer.]
How many of them can you sense, Dad?
[There's the ones they can see...but there could be more in hiding. And Bulla knows very well that her ability to sense ki isn't anywhere near his.]
[His blast fires simultaneously with her own, blowing a part of the road behind them up as the earth flies up along with several cultists trying to take advantage of the ambush. They were sitting ducks and he knew it, and their position had just been given away by their attack.]
Let's go! [He picks himself up quickly, trying to move to the center of the convoy, still staying on the side of the road.] Their power levels are pathetic compared to what we're used to, so it's hard to tell- but there's certainly more on the way. Do not be fooled, shifters could show up any time now. [His eyes are peeled into the jungle, letting MSF forces take care of the conflict at the front.]
Get on the other side. If I didn't know any better, they'll try to move in on the sides too. We already foiled part of their plan, but I don't think we're out of the woods yet.
[Bulla scoots over to the other side and looks carefully for the troops. When she sees an errant wing-tip poking out of the foliage, she fires a ki blast in that general direction.
The energy blows away two cultists, as well as tears down some of the foliage that was obscuring several more from their view.]
Over there!
[Bulla fires a blast in the direction of two more of the cultists. One dodges, but the other is completely destroyed.]
[He's firing his own blasts off into the jungle. He's got half a mind just to destroy the entire area and be done with them all, but he can't afford the trouble he'd get in with the Malnosso, not when he was so close to the reward he wanted out of doing these stupid missions. Killing off an entire platoon of soldiers wouldn't be in his best interests, even if he doesn't care that they'd die in the process.
But what he didn't anticipate was the MSF actually losing to the large elite tearing apart their forces from the front. With a crunch of steel, it's made its way to the back where Bulla and Vegeta have set themselves up, and it is completely aware of where the two of them are. Which results with a growl and it coming up beind the Saiyan Prince, taking a swing at his head. It connects with a sickening thud, sending Vegeta flying, skidding across the dirt road.
[Bulla jumps when she hears that growl and turns around just in time to see the blow connect to her father's head. She lets out a shriek, and the urge to transform is almost overwhelming. The only thing that stops her is the thought of what will happen if her father is unconscious when she runs out of energy.]
Oh no! Dad!
[She's shaken enough to miss the Elite coming at her when she fires off a ki blast at his wings, and when he moves in to strike her head, it's all she can do to bring her gauntlet-covered hands up to block. Even then, the blow knocks her backward and only protects her head. Bulla has just enough presence of mind to push her legs behind her to absorb the shock rather than letting herself slam into a tree wings-first. Between the force of the Elite's blow and her springing off of a tree to launch herself back at the Elite, it's enough to knock the tree over.]
[He's trying to pick himself up off of the ground, holding his head. What the hell was that? Whatever it was, that really hurt. He can hear the muffled sound of a blast hitting something, but its the crack of wood. He can also hear screams of pain, but it's not from the elite. Probably MSF. A louder crack of wood and a loud boom of the tree hitting the ground as Bulla launches herself off of it gets him to crack an eye open, just barely catching the sight of his daughter speeding right back towards the elite that had clocked him.
As fast as he can, he stands and starts running at the elite, but Bulla will beat him to it, easily.]
[Bulla's going to try to use her ki semi-sparingly. Blasts when there are Third Party cultists to be taken out, and she might take flight a little here and there, but generally she's going to try to fight using her raw strength as much as possible.
As she flies toward the Elite, she whirls around and lashes a kick out at his head.]
[Unfortunately for the elites, the Z-fighters out here are at their full strength so that kick will just twist its head completely around, with a crack. Vegeta stops in his tracks, seeing her break the thing's neck with ease. Wow that...was really good. He looks at the collapsing corpse with a wide-eyed stare.]
Bulla-! [THAT WAS GREAT WOW CAN HE JUST STARE AND BE REALLY PROUD BECAUSE SHE JUST KILLED THAT GUY]
[Bulla's not panicking the way she was during the Edmundo incident. She does wince at how gross the elite's corpse looks with the head turned around all the way like that. But she's not distraught. Just taking a moment to catch her breath.]

I saw a flock of birds that seemed like they were trying to get away from some sort of disturbance.

...Where. [He takes a look around the convoy, not seeing anything suspicious out in the jungle itself.]

They came from that direction. I don't know if it's the Third Party or just a bigger animal on the hunt or something, but it's something.

I don't see anything, are you certain?
