My cloak does well enough...

You need a sweater, a coat, a hat, some mittens or gloves, and maybe even some extra-warm socks to wear with your boots. At the very least.

[And now she's wondering how much Adela has in the way of clothing if she's wearing pants underneath the sundress.]

...do you have any other clothes to wear?

[Silence...

Until she turns around and starts walking away a little too quickly to be mistaken as casual.] I trust you will be done soon. Until next we meet.

[Bulla reaches over to catch Adela's arm to keep her from fleeing.]

Oh, no, no. I haven't even measured you yet, Adela! And you didn't answer my question.

[Except she kind of did.]

If you don't have anything else, I'll help you pick out a few things here.

[How is that grip on her arm so strong!? Adela doesn't even try tugging after the first pull, feeling at least a little trapped when she looks back at Bulla.]

Ah... I... I cannot, I have nothing to pay for new clothing with.

Nobody told you? The clothing here is free. There's no money here.

[She pulls Adela back, slowly but firmly. She doesn't want to hurt her by accident. She's learned to be more mindful of her strength after an incident with a certain shirtless fool.]

It is not... It still does not feel right, to just take that clothing. I know there is no money, that is why we were bartering to begin with is it not?

[She's not going to win is she? At least she's going with the pull, even if she still has to be pulled.]

The supplies are provided to us because all wound up here against our will.

[If she can make the Prince of All Saiyans take her shopping, Adela has absolutely no chance. Bulla will ensure she's got at least a couple of new outfits, complete with warm outer wear before this trip is done.]

I try to do things like help people find their way around here and explain things to them when they've just arrived. If you're contributing to the community in some way, nobody's going to hold it against you if you need some clothes. And you do need some clothes. Especially for cold weather like this.

[Yep, she's doomed. Adela's shoulders eventually slump as she concedes, her eyes flicking to the clothing around the store.]

... It is also fashion I am not used to. We never had the money for more than the fabric to cut and sew clothing ourselves.

[And she doesn't think she did a bad job with her tunic, but now seeing all of the clothing there, all of the styles she has never encountered before... It's intimidating.]

That's okay. I can help you pick something out. Is there anything you're really uncomfortable with and wouldn't put on unless there was literally nothing else?

[Might as well start with assessing comfort zones. Bulla can work with people's individual senses of style.]

[The fact that she's going to have to wear these clothes at all is going to make her uncomfortable, but she can at least see that Bulla is trying. Though it is reluctant, Adela does nod and give her consent, standing a bit straighter where she is.]

Let us try, then.

[Bulla sizes her up and starts looking for things that might be appropriate for her colouring.]

For starters, it's good to layer in this kind of weather. You can wear a camisole underneath a sweater, and then if the sweater has a lower neckline, you don't have to worry about it because the shirt underneath will cover you.

[She picks out a loose emerald green sweater and a black tank top, then another sweater that's a dark purple with a white camisole. Then she moves on to pants, selecting a pair of jeans and a pair of light khakis.]

How are these? Nothing too embarrassing, right?

[She's a little unsure, but if what Bulla says is true about the layering it shouldn't be too revealing. They seem to hem strangely however, so she's not quite sure if she'll be comfortable with them on. After a moment she nods, relaxing a bit.]

I will have to try them on to tell you for sure.

[After some time she gets the combination of green, black, and jeans onto her -- and, although the clothes seem to be a good fit (though the legs on the jeans and the sleeves of the green sweater are a bit long on her), she's flushed and tugging at the parts of the clothes that fit a bit more tightly.]

... I am not used to clothes being so form-fitting, truth be told...

[Though, she can deal if it's the only real issue with it. Which it seems to be, it's modest enough for her taste at the least.]

[[OoC: ... That awkward moment when I wonder if she'd have anything like a bra or corset.]]

That's why you wear the loose clothing on the outside and the form fitting clothing underneath. As a bonus, the close-fitting layer helps keep colder winds from being as much of a problem.

[Which reminds her to grab a coat. And other accessories, like a hat, gloves and a scarf. The coat she picks is just a little above knee length, and slate grey.]

Try the coat on over top of your clothing. It'll keep you a lot warmer in the cold weather than your cloak.

[She takes a bit to put it on, frowning a bit at how the clothes tug and pull on each other and on her body. It really does seem strange, though she can understand why the coat would have sleeves - it might not keep one as warm, but it's more mobile. The material is really thick too...

All of the accessories seem a little overwhelming, and she doesn't take them right away as she just tries on the coat, taking a moment to shift her hair out of it.]

It certainly is warm.

[Too much for the indoors, but she doesn't doubt that she'll be comfortable outside - even if the length doesn't make running a simple task.]

Good. It seems to fit just fine.

[She grabs a few sets of socks and a five-pack of women's underwear that should probably fit to round out the set. She'd pick out more for a wardrobe, but Adela seems very uncomfortable about taking more than the bare essentials.]

I think that covers what you really need for staying warm and gives you a couple of changes of clothes. If you wanted to be a little warmer with the sundress, you could always wear a pair of leggings underneath.

[Okay, she wasn't quite done. She grabs a pale blue cardigan to go with the white sundress and a set of navy blue leggings.]

There. Now you've got three outfits.

I... I thank you. This is very generous.

[Not that she's entirely comfortable taking so much with her, but she has a feeling that refusing it would go over worse than just taking the clothing. And, as much as she doesn't like simply taking it for nothing, she does need the clothes.

Though, she isn't sure about Bulla's choices in their entirety, but if this is the style most people wear then it doesn't seem like she has much of a choice.]

Just help someone who's brand new out one day in the future. Think of it as a pay it forward system.

[It's not like there's any currency to pay, or that one can even offer something in return at first anyway. Bulla considers taking the time to help people important and she's generally welcoming and helpful to most people until they show that they're absolutely obnoxious.]

[Although she's unsure, she does nod after a moment as she holds the bundle in her arms.]

I shall.

All right. I'll let you know as soon as your cloak and tunic are ready, then.

[She pauses.]

You should probably put on the leggings before you go back outside. It'll be warmer for your legs.

I am already wearing these uh... Jeans? [She's blinking like that, not quite sure of why Bulla would want her to wear thinner material instead of her own clothing when her legs were already perfectly fine - okay maybe not perfectly fine, but not as cold as they would be were they exposed.]

Oh...uh.

[Then Bulla remembers that Adela's from a more old fashioned world where jeans are unheard of.]

Typically people don't wear dresses over jeans. You wear a sweater or another kind of shirt with them instead. With a dress, you can either wear leggings or tights, and then when the weather is really hot, just go with your legs bare.

I... Should I wear the sundress again, I will keep it in mind. It is more comfortable than allowing my legs to be bared.
