1st shopping trip [Video/Action]
[The blue haired girl who appears on the video feed is nothing short of irate.]
Bad enough that I get taken away just before I got to go home, but some creep changes my clothes while I'm unconscious and leaves me with this plain thing?!
[She looks disdainfully at the plain white sundress.]
Don't even get me started on surgical modification. Ugh. I want to know who's in charge of this sketchy operation so I can give them a piece of my mind!
[Bulla clenches a petite fist and looks like she wants to smack someone. Then she realizes that anyone else who has a little book device like this probably isn't in a much better situation.]
Sorry...this is just so not what I needed right now, so if anyone is listening and can tell me who I should go yell at, I'd appreciate it.
[Action]
[The teenager is a decidedly unhappy camper. She just wants to be home with her family where she belongs, but instead she's stuck here. She'd really like to slap the pervert who undressed her and took her clothes. Even discovering that she'd be able to get them back doesn't really make up for what's happened. She's tempted to fly in the air to get a better view of the area in the hopes of spotting an escape route...but she'll save that for later. There are priorities that need to be addressed. Namely this bland little sundress she's currently wearing.
She wanders along, exploring and doing her best to remember where she's going. A couple of times, she finds herself lost and begins marking where she's been with a stick on the ground. It helps, and after a while she reaches the town.
Bulla looks irritable right up until she spots a clothing shop with a cute shirt and skirt combination on display amongst other outfits. Her expression visibly brightens and she makes a beeline for the shop.]

[The saiyan men can eat. Even Bulla has a healthy appetite, though it's nothing compared to that of saiyan men. It's just a lot more than one would expect a girl her size to eat. She innately has enough ki that when she actually wants to fly around, she can do so for a long time without getting tired. Usually, she prefers being driven somewhere.
She enters the changing room, and she wiggles out of that plain white sundress as fast as she can manage without hurting her sensitive new wings. She finally dons her old clothing happily, glad to be rid of that thin little dress. Little does she know that her mother is trying to pick out some additional clothing for her.]
Aaaah, much better.
no subject
[Rhetoric question, she has known Goku for long enough to know the answer.
She pauses when she hears Bulla from the changing room, guessing that the girl is done with changing. It gives her another moment of hesitation, is it really her place to do this? She wants to, it gives her something to talk about with the other and maybe even feel... Less like a stranger. But what if Bulla doesn't like it? Or doesn't want her mother helping to pick up clothes no matter her age?
On the other hand... What's the worst that could happen? Feel more distanced from the teenager? Hardly possible when there's such a huge gap of time between both their existences. Bulma approaches the changing room, in her arms a couple of outfits she has picked.]
Bulla, darling... What do you think of those? I'm not sure the size is the right one, though.
[She will show Bulla a light orangeish (not horrible eye-bleeding orange) cashmere sweater with an open neck, the kind that is often wore showing a shoulder due how wide the neck is. It goes together with soft blue tight jeans and sneakers. The other outfit is composed by another skirt in pink color, this time a non-leather like one, together with a white shirt and a black cardigan. Despite being sure the clothes are fashionably and good she doesn't have much expectations about them pleasing her daughter.]
no subject
Oh, those are cute, Mom. The orange sweater will be nice and warm and have plenty of space for wings.
[She's not as sensitive to the cold as some are, but there is a chill in the air and long sleeves are a good idea.]
They look a little small for you, but probably about the right size for me...oh.
[Colour Bulla impressed at how quickly her mother has adapted to having a daughter she knew nothing about less than an hour ago.]
Are you going to pick something out for yourself, too? I can help you.
no subject
Sorry, are you too old for having your mother help you pick up clothes? Well, even if it's so, indulge your future mother on this just this time, okay?
[But maybe she's wrong, Bulla is offering to help her pick up something after all and it makes Bulma smile even more. It reminds her of when she was younger and her mother and her would go shopping, she has always been very independent so there weren't many times, specially as she grew older. But when she was still a preteen sometimes her mother would leave her plants and her sweets to take her shopping, helping each other to get something cute and stylish was really fun for her.
Of course she plans to pick up more than just a few outfits, she knows Bulla will need more as well. But since she wants to leave the talk of Luceti for a bit later she will just go with a couple outfits. They are going to have time to get more later on.]
I was thinking of getting a couple of things, you never know how many you may need when traveling. What do you think I should get?
no subject
[Chi Chi's on the other hand...nope. But her mom's always had a good sense of fashion. While she may like dragging her dad shopping with her the most of all, she asks her mom to go shopping with her when she really needs to pick out something nice that will get boys' attention.]
Well, let's see...maybe a couple of casual things and one that's a little dressier? Definitely a coat or a sweater.
[She winds up selecting the red dress her mother had been eying from the start for one of the outfits, then browses some more until she finds a sleeveless shirt with a vibrant pattern on it. Orange features heavily into the pattern, but there's some black, yellow, a little dash of red, and some subtle blues. As a dress, it would be a little too much, but as a shirt paired with solids, it's just the right dash of colour for her mom. Or at least she's pretty sure that her mom in her time would like it. She picks up a loose black sweater that would almost be like a cardigan if there were buttons to do it up to go with it, and a jean skirt.]
What do you think so far?
no subject
That sounds great, there aren't many chances to go elegant here but that doesn't mean we can't do it from time to time.
[She can't help to smile when Bulla picks up the red dress she had been eying. It's strange and fantastical to see her daughter browse around picking up clothes for her, Bulma doesn't realize her breath is caught in her chest for a while as she admires the scene. A scene that one day will be familiar and usual. It's hard to believe that this isn't a dream, really.
And the child is just so... Perfect. Her baby girl. So precious, so pretty and charming, dealing with the fact that her mother is only around half her age older than her like a champion. Bulla may not look like Vegeta but she must have taken that from him, because as strong as Bulma can be she's sure she would freak out far more back at that age if she went through that.
Don't mind the way she's looking at you, Bulla. It's actually the way she looked at you when you were born. Full of happiness, love, surprise and pride because you're the biggest proof of how her dreams had finally become true. Anyway she's smiling widely so it's nothing to worry about.]
I think those are perfect. And that I'm glad that you didn't get your father's fashion tastes.
[Assuming he has those.]
Here, let me try those on.

[She passes over the clothing and it's mildly amazing to her just how quickly her mother has gotten used to the idea of being a mom to a teenage girl. But then, she knows that finding a boyfriend who'd eventually marry her had been a goal of her mother's. It's one she shares, although Bulla's more focused on the 'boyfriend' part at this point in her life.]
The hardest part is finding shirts that fit. He usually has to go sleeveless.
no subject
[She laughs, the memory still quite fresh in her mind. It had been a joke, but even with those horrible clothes he had still looked quite attractive to her. Knowing what she does now, she is sure that no matter what he would be wearing, she would find him attractive. Still, it's nice to hear that someone with good fashion sense and not biased is taking care of him in that aspect.
Bulma takes the clothes easily and heads to the changer to try them on.]
He has always had muscled arms, I can't imagine how big those muscles must be by your time. Then again short-sleeves or sleeveless have always looked well on him so I don't think it's a big tragedy.
What about your brother Trunks?
no subject
[Just imagine someone calling Vegeta a geek and getting away with it, Bulma. Enjoy that mental picture.]
Trunks needs some work, but he's not too bad. We got him to wear suits to work, at least.
no subject
You got him... What, did he want to bring casual clothes to work? Silly boy, brains aren't everything in the business work unfortunately.
I know I would prefer to wear more comfortable clothes to the company, but investors have the bad habit of judging a book by the cover no matter how great you demonstrate to be. Not to mention that you can't demonstrate to be too great or they get offended.
[A sigh, yes she's babbling about work and as she realizes it herself she lets out a soft groan.]
Sorry about that, love, didn't mean to bore you with work talk. Oh! Say... How does it goes with boys and you?
[One would expect her to ask her daughter about studies. Bulma thinks boys are a priority though. She exits the changing room clad in the jean skirt and black sweater Bulla picked for her.]
no subject
[Understatement of the year. Still, he hasn't killed or maimed any of them yet.
Yet being the operative word here.]The outfit looks good on you, Mom. It fits just right.
no subject
[Apparently Vegeta is now a pirate by the way Bulma mimics him.
She smiles at Bulla, striking a pose to show off the outfit.]
But of course it does! Not only it's me wearing it but this was picked up by my own daughter! It would be anti-natural for it to not look good on me. Please, I'm sure that even Chi Chi's clothes would look better on me than on her.
[And she doesn't want to touch them even with Goku's bo extended to it's limit. She chuckles.]
no subject
[She laughs a little at that, and at her mother's comment on Chi Chi's clothing.]
Chi Chi's fashion sense is...her own.
[That's the most diplomatic way Bulla can phrase it.]
no subject
[Despite her timeline, despite how much of a mess she's right now regarding Vegeta, there's clearly something in her tone that speaks of affection for him. Unsure and confused affection but it's there nonetheless.]
Have I ever told you how people think that she's older than me when we're together? She had slightly better taste when she was a kid, though she didn't wear that many clothes back then so it's hard to mess up with that.
[It's good that Bulla is diplomatic. She can be the diplomatic one of the two, Bulma will just shake her head at the memories.]
You should have seen how she dressed Gohan when he was a kid.
no subject
[Bulla's pretty grateful for her genetics, all in all. She may not be a warrior like Trunks, but Saiyan DNA made gym class at school a breeze. She looks more like her mother, though, and she's grateful for that.]
I saw the pictures of Gohan...but he still dresses like a nerd.
no subject
[That reminds her about her beauty salon. Did anyone take care of after she left? She can't see Goku doing so, but she has honest doubts to even if he still lives in the house or went to the forest. With that man it was hard to know.]
I can't say I'm very surprised, she got the poor kid right from the start. He was just four years old and claiming that he wanted to be a scholar.
[A sigh.]
I have nothing against studies, I would prefer if you and your brother were well educated both in manners and intelligence. But it seems rash to me to have a kid that small having those dreams... Please, darling, tell me I'm not the kind of mother that imposes a dream on her children.
Besides the part of one of you having to take care of the company, but that's not a dream, that's a job and trust me, it's better to have a sure job like that than to not have any.
[Money doesn't grow on trees, after all.]
no subject
[She's never really given much thought to her future, though. She's never had to.]
Luckily, he is, because I don't think anyone would listen to a fifteen year old President.
no subject
Thank, God. Your grandparents never were the forcing kind either, I was always able to do whatever I wanted within reasonable limits. I would have hate to turn into someone like Chi Chi. She's not a bad person but... Well, to each their own.
[Bulma waves a hand dismissively. While she can get along with Chi Chi, there are many things they just don't match. Not to mention the jealousy and envy that always lays there, because Chi Chi was able to get married to a good man and get a family while Bulma was stuck with just Yamcha if she was lucky. That's not something to gossip with a daughter about, how sometimes she would find herself thinking that Chi Chi isn't that pretty and that the only reason she got married was because she basically forced Goku to do it. Those are pathetic and cruel thoughts that she quickly throws away but it's hard to not be jealous and cruel when the people around you get what you always wished for while you remind stuck behind.]
I don't know what to say, though. Even if you're not a genius like I am, I'm sure that with the character you must have inherited from both your father and me they would come to listen to you in no time.
no subject
[She's never really tried in a business context before, but if the need arose and there wasn't anyone more capable who could handle it, she'd take on the responsibility.]
Trunks is really smart so the company's in good hands.
no subject
[No really, leading the company is a difficult thing even when ignoring the most technical aspects. Just talking to the stupid stockholders, investors, suppliers and even the clients is a taxing task and a hard battle in which everything goes down to her getting her way unless she wants the company to start being lead to bankrupt. It's a real curse that normally people with money aren't blessed with intelligence like her family is.]
You're making me wish he was here. I can imagine him dressed up in a suit like a good proper president, if his hair remains the way I remember the future him having it he will only be missing glasses to be just like your grandfather when he started the company!
[She hasn't even really met the kid and she's already blooming with pride. Yeah, she was pretty desperate to have a family so her adaptation to having kids is fast once the shock gets away.]
